It is very useful equipment and can supply cold, moderate and hot water.

Water dispensers play a vital role in workplaces, restaurants, hospitals and public places for storing clean drinking water.

Types of water dispensers

Various types of water dispensers are available in the market and we need to be very particular while purchasing water dispenser. Water dispensers with steel body are mostly preferred compared to other types. There are bottle-less and bottled water dispensers. Bottle dispensers can be used as freestanding ones. Freestanding ones are, however, quite expensive compared to other models. Floor model water dispensers are also available and these are usually found in educational institutes and offices.

On the other hand, there is a counter top water dispensers which are very popular. This type of water dispensers needs to be placed on a high table.

Many dispensers come with inbuilt filtration system. These types of dispensers are mostly used for domestic purposes. These types of dispensers are comparatively cheaper because it comes with inbuilt filtration systems which eliminate the requirement of purchasing pre-filled bottles.

How does water cooler work?

A water dispenser usually consists of refrigerant, reservoir, compressor and circulating pipes.

Bottled water dispenser- In this type of water dispenser water is feed through an inverted water bottle which is placed on top of the water cooler. When the bottle is placed into the opening on the top of the water dispenser, the seal of the bottle is cut off, allowing free flow of water into the cooler.

There is a valve inside the water cooler which controls the water flow in the water dispenser. The water inside the water cooler is passed into a reservoir, where it is chilled using a refrigerant. A refrigerant, is located near the reservoir in the water cooler, reduces the water temperature. Refrigerant, a cooling medium, is circulated in pipes.

The compressor inside the cooler creates a pressure which changes the cooling medium from a liquid to gas while water move in the pipes towards the reservoir. The cooled gas in the water pipe then passed through a valve to further reduce the water temperature.

Refrigerant in a gaseous form has the capacity to absorb the heat from the water in the reservoir, providing cool and refreshing water. The heat absorbed by the refrigerator is then driven out from the dispenser.

This process continues as long as the reservoir is filled with water.
